1943 BULOVA A-11 WATCH RESTORED!

Today to honor Veteran's Day... I just got my WWII A-11 Bulova watch back in the mail...
What it use to look like when I found it.
It had seen better days, although the insides were perfect.   I had it completely cleaned and oiled, new main spring a new NOS dial as mine was flaking apart, a new crystal, and two new hands as my old ones just rusted away...  I think it looks great and it looks period to the watch.
This is a pretty rare watch as it's sterling silver and most were a base metal.
Made by Bulova in 1943 for the troops.
I kept the original band, but will probably replace it sometime.
It has 60 years of time on it and could use a better cleaning.
And here it is being worn.  It's so small by today's standards.
If you have a military watch that needs service, drop me an email and I'll let you get in touch with the expert that restored mine.   I've always wanted one of these and now I'm wearing one!   It's Vintage Gear for Guys!

CUSTOM EARLY TO RISE LA STAMP FOR LEATHER WORK

Today it's a very special tool I own...
It's my custom Logo for leather stamping my leather work.
I got this a few weeks ago and love it.
They're not cheap, but if you want a professional final product, I think they're worth it.
I used it first on my new horsehide belts with the vintage rivets you've probably seen on my blog.
Horsehide is pretty tough to stamp through and my first few impressions were pretty shallow.  I had to really pound it to get it to hold in the leather.
The stamp has some real "heft" to it.  I love that.
Plenty of hand grip.   If you're into making things yourself and plan on selling them.   Having all the right tools makes the job so much easier and so much better in  the end.  It's Vintage Gear for Guys!

WALSCO 6 FT. 406W POCKET MEASURING TAPE

Today it's a cool measuring tape.
Made by Walsco.
All metal so nothing to break.   Fits in your pocket.
Just 2 inches long.   Measures out to 6 feet.
I love little vintage items like this.
Hard to believe all this cool stuff was once common place.  Now it's all plastic made in China.
All metal ruler.
This is the little vintage stuff that completes the Vintage Gear Guy!
