VINTAGE HAMILTON BEACH NO. 18 MILKSHAKE MIXER

Today it's a new toy I just picked up!
A vintage Hamilton Beach Model #18 Milk Shake Mixer!
Jade Green enamel.  Chrome.  All original... just needs restored.
This thing is heavy.. It's about 18" tall too.
Truly a thing of beauty.  Graceful lines... Simple design...  It's great.
I'm going to totally tear it down and rebuilt it.. so watch in the future for the "After" shots.
Original cord and plug... a little scary huh...?
Picking up a few vintage items for the kitchen is a nice addition to you collection.  Having a shake made on a vintage machine just tastes better to me...

FRENCH PRESS (PLUNGER) STYLE COFFEE MAKER

Today it's my two French Press Coffee Makers
One is a single cup for those times when you just need one an the other does about 2-3 cups
This type of coffee making, makes a very good cup of coffee.  Just add grounds, super hot water (not boiling) let sit a minute, add the plunger and push... then pour...
Easy to clean too.  I've even used the same grounds if I wanted more, without much loss of taste.
If you like coffee, and you've never tried a french press (Plunger) style coffee maker... pick one up.  The design goes back to the turn of the (last) century and still works great for that Vintage Gear Guy...

VINTAGE M-51 US ARMY FIELD JACKET KOREA WAR ERA

Today it's an M-51 Field Jacket I picked up.
This replaced the short lived M-50 jacket that replaced the longer lived M-43 (which I also own and have an example here on blog.)
This one was used all the way up to 1965, with the invention of the you guessed it.. M-65 which Rambo made famous...
I like the M-51 as it has all the feature I need.   The only major difference between this and the M-65 is the zippered hood.
This one has a really nice Olive Drab Talon triple marked zipper.
This one was made on April 16th, 1953.   The size is a Regular Large which is a little hard to find the bigger sizes today.  An Army Field Jacket to me, is a must have in the line up... They're perfect on cold rainy days....

also if anyone is interested this one is currently on ebay for sale...
