VINTAGE COPPER RIVETS AND BURS 1900'S

Today it's some really awesome rivets I picked up.

I've got some projects coming up that needed some rivets and these fit the bill perfectly.

These have to be from the early 1900's.   I bought two boxes.  One pound, one half pound.

The half pound box for belts are really cool.

Check this out... Some sizes have little anchors on the back and others have stars!  What a cool touch for belt!

Plus the boxes are almost as cool as what's inside.

If you do projects, it's nice to have something vintage in them, if you're a vintage gear guy like me.  And now when I make something with these, I know it's got a rivet and bur that's probably 100 years old...

VINTAGE LEVI'S "WHEAT" OR WHITE DENIM JACKET

Today it's my "Wheat" Levi's Jean Jacket.

These jackets were very popular in the late 60's and early 70's.  It was a new color at the time as most people would just bleach their blue denim jackets.

This one is in pretty good shape.  It has a few stains on it, that I might be able to get out, but I really don't care about them myself.  No tab though, so I don't know if it's a Big E or little.  I'd guess little, but you never know..

It's a 70518-1022.  and my size too!  I wish it were a 44 long though as the sleeves just fit.

it's your classic Denim jacket from Levi's... only in off white or what is sometimes called "Wheat" although it's not as yellow as wheat so it might just be a dirty white.

Having a few Jean Jackets is a must for the Vintage Gear Guy.  They go with everything and will last a lifetime.   

BB KING "THE BLUES" CROWN RECORDS 5063 LP

Today it's just one record...  

BB King.   The Blues.

I love the graphics on this record.  It tells you everything you need to know about it.  It's BB King and it's The Blues.

From the Crown Label.  CLP 5063.  Not sure of the year, but I'd guess late 50's early 60's.

l love the look of a real record.  Simple and tells you what you what to know.

Now a look at the actual record...  Well loved.  I've sure a few shots of jack were sipped while listening to this record.

I have quite a few old records.  I collect mostly Jazz, Blues, and Comedy.  Find a genre you like and start looking for them.  Some are easy to find, while others are rare to find.  Old BB King from this era are generally tough to find, but like this one, they do show up....  It's Vintage Gear for the Ears....

BUCK POCKET KNIFE 503C LOCK BACK BLADE

Today it's my personal pocket knife.

I've carried a pocket knife since I was 10 years old.  Growing up on a farm, I needed one.  I find a thousand uses for one and still carry one to this day.  I've carried this Buck for the last 15 years.

It's just the right size for a pocket.  It's just about as big as a tube of lip balm. 

I like the classic style of this lock back.  Rosewood handles and stainless steel add to it's classic looks.

I'd suggest a lock back as a pocket knife, especially if you've ever had a non lock-back suddenly close on your fingers....

It's not a show knife.  Just a daily user...

I should have cleaned the blade a little before the pics... I was using it the night before to open some packages.

I'll probably just carry this knife till I wear away the blade or it falls apart... neither of which will happen in my lifetime.  A nice knife like this will put you back only about 30-40 bucks and it's well worth it.  If you don't have a nice pocket knife, you should think about picking one up... It's Vintage Gear for Guys!

VINTAGE CAMFIELD AUTOMATIC TOASTER CHROME

Today post is toasty...   A vintage Chrome Automatic Toaster!

I picked this up this year in hopes of using it, but I think it needs adjusting as it just stayed on and didn't turn off.  I'm sure if I opened it up, I could fix it.

This is basically what all toasters in the 50's and 60's looked like.  Two slots, all chrome with an automatic timer built in.

Nice big openings.

It really is a beautiful appliance if you could use that term to describe an appliance.  Bakelite handles and heavy chrome.... All ready to get you started in the morning!  Old stuff like this scattered around your kitchen makes it seem more like a cool kitchen.   All new stuff looks too, well new...
