Today, I'll show something I've picked up or future use.
It's a set of replacement heels for my boots when they wear out.

And they're vintage! Why not replace your vintage shoes heels with vintage replacement heels when you need too?

Plus the box is super awesome in itself!

I figure the rubber is not quite as nice as it was when it was new.. but hey, they're old shoes or boots anyway right?

So if you find a set and they're your size, pick them up for when you need them...

So today I wanted to show a modern shirt that has a lot of vintage appeal.
This is the Chambray shirt from Gap. They made two this year, a gray and a blue. It has all the major elements of a vintage work shirt. It's not exact, but it's not bad.

I happened to have bought both, as they were having a 2 for 1 sale. I got both for $50.00.

Here's some outdoor shots without the flash...

Really a great price for what you get.

Classic work wear is one of my staples... And a classic chambray work shirt is a must for the Vintage Gear Guy.

Pulp Fiction anyone?
If you've been reading this blog for awhile then you're probably like me a little too... And I love pulp fiction...

Especially Raymond Chandler. Here a small collection of books I have read, and re-read...

Most of these stories I actually have the original paperbacks, but wouldn't want to hurt them so I can read these instead.

Having books of your favorite authors is a great way to relive the past... it's a must for the Vintage Gear Guy...

Here's one of my favorite "beater" hats...
A late 50's Churchill Fedora.

I like this fedora because it goes with just about anything.

From jeans to a suit (although when I wear a suit I have better fedora's I usually wear)

That's a business card in the hat in case I lose it...

Fedora's are a great hat. In the summer they're hot though so go with a straw type fedora... Every vintage guy needs a fedora...

Here's yet another telephone of mine...
This one is from the late 50's-60 by Monophone.

The dial card reads, "House Phone 2" most likely from a hotel or motel.

The back side...

It's a lovely shade of green so it ads a touch of color in the house...

Get yourself an old phone. They're cool, never die and are just fun to talk through... they're vintage gear for guys!

I love the sound of a true record...
This is my vintage Bang & Olufsen Beogram RX record player..

I picked this up many years ago at a thrift store for about $35.00. It also included a receiver, and tape player too.

It really plays nicely.

if you like music, pick up a record player. Make sure the needle is there as that's the most expensive thing to replace...

It's a must for the vintage gear guys... Records Rule!

Before belt loops there was Suspenders.. and they never left.
Here's a pair of mine, not quite "vintage" but made in W.Germany so they're a tad bit old.

Get a pair that has leather loops, not plastic! I like the neutral color

These are attached to my LVC 33's.

I don't sport them all the time as I do find a belt more comfortable or no belt at all.

But get at least one pair for your collection... do not get ones that snap on your jeans!
