Today for my birthday, I got this really cool Kaleidoscope from my mom.
It's all handmade. It's a cool one as it shows you not some colored glass like most of them, but what ever you look at.

It's really nicely made too!

Here's some pictures of what I'm talking about.

the dark spots are from the flash going off.
So yes, it's brand new, but a kaleidoscope is very vintage, and especially cool as a gift.

Today since it's casual Friday... My old Adidas Canvas hi-tops....
I bought these about 6 years ago and have given them years of use...

they were bright blue and new looking when I got them.

I like that I've never seen anyone else wearing this shoe. Lot's of chucks and maybe a few PF (see past post) but not Adidas.

They've actually held up pretty well and are I must say comfortable as canvas molded shoes can be.

I still have about 6 more years of wear left in these before I need a new pair.

Canvas hi-tops are a must in any Vintage guys shoe rack...

Today, I'll go into an area I haven't yet... suits...

This is one of my sport coats.. An electric blue number from the late 50's.

I really love everything about this jacket. It's color, it's cut, it's lapels...

Single button... it screams ..."Smoooth"

The inside label.

A sport coat that sets you off from the pack is what you need. And why not do it in style too. So if you don't already, pick up a few sport coats for that special occasion you're going to... They're vintage gear for guys.

Today, I thought I'd go old school.. well not totally old school, but at least a few years ago..
This was my first camera, A Canon AE-1 Program. I got it when I was 13 (you do the math) I got it for xmas as a deal that I paid for half and my parents paid for the other half.

I've taken thousands of pictures with this work horse. It's still a great 35mm camera today.

It's all manual (except the light meter) and just works great. Of course you never know if the picture turned out till you got it back, but I had a lot of fun and spent a lot of cash buying film..

Canon's a great camera to pick up as they and Nikon were the tops in consumer grade cameras.

Having an old 35mm is nice and might be on your list of Vintage Gear for Guys.

Today I'll show my small collection of cuff links
If you wear a suit, you should have a few french cuff shirts....

Cuff links are the final addition to a great suit or look.

All of mine are used from friends or family. I also have a set for Tuxedo... which will be a later highlight on poohbang...

You also need a box to keep them from getting lost...

Cuff links are a Vintage Gear for Guys... get some, you'll thank me later.

So you spend a fortune on your shoes, but unless they come with shoe trees... do you use them?
I sure do. Most the shoes I buy don't come with shoe trees as they're vintage. So I stop by my local thrift and pick up any that are nice and fit my size. For about 4-5 buck you can pick up a pair for your shoes too.

Shoe trees are usually made of wood. I've seen the metal one, but they're only good for keeping the shoes shape and not absorbing moisture. Get cedar ones if you can.

They're super simple to use and will extend the life of your shoes for years!

If you own shoes... you must own shoe trees.

They're a must Vintage Gear for Guys!

Today, I'll show my Kitchen Clock. It's a vintage General Electric model. Not sure of the date, but I'd say late 50's.
Runs like a champ. It got a tad noisy as most of these do as the old motors need oiled. Now there are bunch of ways to do it, and I chose the tough way, but the best as it doesn't drill into the motor. Now it's all oiled up and runs without ANY noise!
There are hundreds of styles of vintage kitchen clocks. Some cool looking, others make you wonder, but they're all great. Find one running or not, as you can get it running pretty easy.

They're must haves for Vintage Guys!
